Winchester - Scaling a Family Room

This large room had a 22’ ceiling, a wall with windows 16’ above the floor and a gas fireplace at floor level. The first attempt, placing a crown molding up the wall didn't do anything to change the appearance. We raised the fireplace, built a hearth and a faux chimney; bringing it up the molding. Adding built-in bookcases on both sides of the fireplace completed the project and gave the homeowners the look they had envisioned.
